Chocolate cake with cinnamon topping¶
Serves 8
Ingredients
100 g butter,
220 g sugar,
2 eggs,
300 mL full fat yogurt or sour cream,
1 tsp vanilla extract,
450 g self-raising flour,
200 g dark chocolate (60% cocoa minimum).
Topping:
1 tsp cinnamon,
75 g butter,
4 tbsp granulated sugar.
Preparation
Preheat oven to 180ºC and grease a cake tin.
To make the topping, melt the butter, add the cinnamon and the sugar, stir well and set aside.
Cream the butter and the sugar, add the eggs and continue to beat well until smooth. Add the sour cream/yogurt and the vanilla extract and mix well. Sift in the flour, stir and add the chocolate.
Pour the batter into the cake tin, then evenly spread the topping over the batter.
Bake for 50-60 minutes. Leave to cool in the tin before taking it out.
